Hosted by CapMetro, this year’s Transit Industry Day will be held at the City of Austin Permitting and Development Event Center. The event will focus on helping small businesses strengthen their business position. Featured will be panelist that include current CapMetro contractors as they provide information and insight on the following:
Business Development
Becoming a subcontractor
Forming strategic partnerships
State of small businesses in the Central Texas Region
Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with current CapMetro contractors and organizations/chambers.

Each year COMTO Austin awards scholarships to Texas college students who are passionate about pursuing future careers within the transportation industry. Academics, honors, awards, letter of recommendations and involvement in related clubs and organizations are all taken into consideration when selecting the scholarship recipients.

Join us for an engaging in-person lunch and learn session with King Kaul, the Director of Capital Projects. He will share valuable insights on CapMetro’s upcoming capital projects, career development, and leadership.

Garrett A. Morgan invented the modern-day, three-phase traffic signal and CapMetro looks forward to educating students about this remarkable creator each year. The “behind the scenes” effort of transit/transportation planners and engineers is a great way of celebrating the contributions of minority transportation pioneers while gaining interested students for careers in the industry.

Join us for our Professional Development event, which will include five panels consisting of fellow transportation professionals in the industry who will discuss their roles, career trajectories, challenges they have faced, and advice to succeed in the transportation industry. Panelists include:
